MODX is booking and management software for spas, massage centres and massage therapists in Portugal and Brazil that combines 24/7 online booking, automatic reminders and management of therapists, clients and payments.
A 30-minute massage, a 90-minute one, a ritual with several services in a row: in a spa, every booking shapes the day differently. MODX works out each therapist’s free slots and lets clients book on their own, at any time.
The problem
Fitting 30, 60 and 90-minute sessions into a paper diary leaves gaps and overlaps.
Therapists can’t take booking calls during a session, and many clients try to book after hours.
An empty 90-minute slot is lost therapist time. Without reminders or deposits, it happens more often.
Clients who buy several sessions or come monthly need a clear record of what they have used.

Runs in the browser on computer, tablet or phone. Features are in the Standard plan unless noted.
Clients pick the service, the therapist (optional) and the time, without creating an account.
Clients can combine services and extras in the same booking, such as a massage followed by a facial.
Each therapist has their own hours, breaks and services, and a service can take a different time per therapist.
Email reminders on by default and SMS if you enable it (monthly SMS quota depending on the plan).
In the Professional plan, a percentage or fixed deposit, full payment or card hold through your own Stripe or Mercado Pago account.
In the Professional plan, sell session packages and monthly plans with included services.

Sign up: the business type (barbershop, salon, aesthetics and spa) is preselected from this page.
Add massages and treatments with price and duration, and your therapists’ hours.
Put it on Instagram, your Google profile and your website, or publish your MODX website.
Clients get confirmations and reminders; you see occupancy, no-shows and payments on the dashboard.

The price depends on the plan (Standard, Professional or Enterprise) and the country: euros for Portugal, reais for Brazil. Online booking starts at Standard; deposits, packages, memberships and loyalty are in Professional. See the table below or the pricing page.

Look for online booking without client accounts, different durations per service and therapist, multiple services per booking, reminders, deposits and packages. MODX covers these. It does not do room management, hotel system integration, a native store app (it is an installable web app) or certified invoicing.
